Protecting Your Pucker This Summer

Two years ago, my family and I went to the beach. Before heading out to enjoy the sand and sun, I made sure that we were all lathered in sunscreen.  We were outside for most of the day with consistent breaks under a canopy to avoid sunburn.  Later that evening, we went out to dinner and as I took my first bite into my jalapeno burger, I had such a severe pain in my lips that I could not finish my dinner.  My lips were sunburnt and I was miserable.

It is very important to know that your lips can be damaged by the sun’s UVA and UVB rays and need to be protected.  There are lip balms that contain SPF agents to protect your pucker from these harmful rays, and can be carried easily in your purse, pocket or diaper bag. Remember, children are most affected by the symptoms of sunburn on their lips.

So as you are lathering up for some fun in the sun, don’t forget to protect your pucker as well!
