About Us

About Us

Established in 1985, Bordas & Bordas has a reputation as one of the premier law firms in the region. The firm includes 19 attorneys and nearly 30 staff members. The firm takes pride in being willing and able to take on any opponent in the courtroom. This reputation is derived from years of success and from obtaining record results in excess of $1 million across a broad range of practice areas. Nearly all of the firm’s cases are handled on a contingency fee basis, which means that clients only pay a fee if a recovery is made for the client. Initial consultations are always free and no retainer is required as the firm advances all case expenses.

Our Shield

The Bordas & Bordas logo is a shield with four quadrants. The quadrants symbolize four things that are important to us - experience, family, community and results. In the center of the logo is a cross that represents the our Christian values.

Awards & Recognition

Throughout the years, Bordas & Bordas attorneys have been continually recognized for outstanding work in the legal field. Partners Jim Bordas, Scott Blass, Jamie Bordas, Geoff Brown, Chris Regan, Jason Causey and Jay Stoneking have been named as Super Lawyers numerous times, while attorneys Chris McCabe, Jeremy McGraw and Laura Pollard have been selected as Rising Stars. Jim Bordas was named among Best Lawyers in America on multiple occasions and was also listed in Newsweek Magazine as a national leader in medical malpractice. He was named as a West Virginia Association of Justice Member of the Year. That honor was bestowed upon Chris Regan and upon Scott Blass on two occasions. The firm and its cases have been featured on 60 Minutes, Inside Edition and CNN.

Giving Back to the Community

While experience and results are two obvious focal points at Bordas & Bordas, giving back to the community is also important. Attorneys and staff alike – whether as a group or individually - make it a point to help others in need, not only financially, but with the gift of time.

Jamie Bordas serves as president of the YMCA Board of Directors and Partner Scott Blass and his wife, Kathy, founded the Ohio Valley Breast Cancer Awareness, Inc., which holds the annual Driving Fore a Cure golf tournament each year to provide support to women treating for breast cancer. In 2014, Jim Bordas created the Bordas & Bordas Anti-Bully Fighting for Justice Award, which recognizes a student in each of the 15 OVAC schools in Ohio, Marshall and Belmont counties, who stands up for others. More than $30,000 has been awarded to Anti-Bully Ambassadors throughout the region since the award’s inception. The firm has hosted the students in a luxury suite at PNC park for a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game.

In addition, Bordas & Bordas is a long-time supporter of countless charities, some of which include The Soup Kitchen, the Marshall County Animal Rescue League and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston. Other organizations the firm supports include the Wheeling Nailers, the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference, the American Red Cross, Faith in Action Caregivers and Appalachian Outreach. Since opening an office in Pittsburgh, the firm has also established partnerships with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Penguins, the Ronald McDonald House of Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital.
