Bargains are Plentiful for Willing and Able Consumers

For those who have stayed healthy and have been able to maintain a reasonable income, there are a number of consumer bargains available -- and certainly more to come -- as consumer demand shrinks and suppliers need cash flow.

Is your automobile near the end of its useful life? If so, manufactures like GM and Chrysler are offering truly rare incentives such as 0 percent interest for 84 months with no payment for 120 days. Streaming services are offering extended free trials. Online retailers, like Macy’s are offering deep discounts and free shipping. Even lobsters are selling for half price. Of course, gasoline prices are mirroring those last seen in the late 1990s.

From stocks to Nikes and cars to lobsters, there are deals to be had for those able and willing to buy. If you are a patient buyer, deep sale prices may be available in the real estate market in the near future as well. Some economists’ models are predicting a 35 percent decline in certain areas of the country.

Coronavirus has shaken the consumer markets. Yet, with most buyers sitting it out, great deals are available for the willing and able.
