Holiday Movie Time

As the holidays approach, I look forward to moving forward with family traditions.  The cookie baking, trimming the tree, holiday decorations…all of it just puts me in a great mood!  However, I have to say that after the decorating is done in my house, it’s movie time!

To me, there is nothing better than curling up on the couch with my loved ones (pets included) with the tree lit, candles burning, a plate of cookies and bowl of popcorn on the coffee table; and gearing up for a Christmas movie marathon.

Although there is a big hype among my friends who love the Hallmark Christmas movies, my family and I prefer to stick with the traditional ones.  Like these:

“Home Alone” (1990)

“The Santa Clause” (1994)

“A Charlie Brown Christmas” (1965)

“A Christmas Story” (1983)

“Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer” (1964)

“National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” (1989)

“Elf” (2003)

“Miracle on 34th Street” (1947 & 1994)

“It’s A Wonderful Life” (1946)

“Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (1966 & 2000)

“Die Hard” (Yes, this makes our Christmas movie list) (1988)

“A Christmas Carol” (2009)

“The Family Stone” (2005)

“The Polar Express” (2004)

“Christmas With the Kranks” (2004)

“Jingle All the Way” (1996)

From the heartwarming classics like “It’s a Wonderful Life” to the more updated version of “A Christmas Carol”, you are bound to find at least a few on this list that your whole family will love.
