My Limited-Edition Pumpkin Spice Downward Spiral

My Limited-Edition Pumpkin Spice Downward Spiral

My Limited-Edition Pumpkin Spice Downward Spiral

Each year, after I get my first taste of limited-edition pumpkin spice everything, I go into a spiral that makes every cell in my body wake up to all the limited-edition flavors and goodness that’s about to unfold in stores across the nation.

And then I, like Rudolph using his shiny nose to get through a snowstorm, use the internet to guide me needlessly and furiously to stores with designated release dates to try and snag my limited-edition bounty. It’s a problem in my house and one that my kids are well aware of! After all, they are ultimately the ones who end up sampling my often times weirdly flavored drinks, cereals and snacks.

As I sit at my desk typing, I’m glancing down to my drawer to see my stash of limited-edition caramel flavored Tootsie Roll Pops. This year, I purchased several bags of these lollipops because I made the mistake of only buying one bag last year and had to wait an entire year to re-sample what my friend has rightfully deemed as “fall on a stick.” It was money well spent for sure!

On the flip side, sitting in my desk among the pens, paperclips and post-in notes, sits a half-eaten bag of Turkey Dinner flavored candy corn. I recently purchased four bags of this highly sought-after candy after hearing they were completely sold out of it online. Inside this bag you will find candy corn flavors like green beans, roasted turkey, stuffing, ginger glazed carrots, sweet potato pie and cranberry sauce. I shared this candy with several co-workers and more of it made its way into the trash than into our stomachs -- but we had a few laughs trying it out.

I came to the realization that the first thing I drank today was a cup of coffee that included the new limited-edition coffee creamer called Caramel Waffle Cookie, inspired by Buddy the Elf himself! I bought this when I was actually on the hunt for the holiday flavor Frosted Sugar Cookie, which I purchased in a 32-ounce container last year. I’ve hoped ever since it would pull a Frosty the Snowman and “Be back again someday!”

Currently, I’m on the hunt for Hershey’s 2020 Holiday Kisses, which are sugar cookie flavored. They not only sound delicious but I’ll bet they’ll look amazing on those holiday cookies I will probably never get around to baking!

I’m not sure what it is about this time of year that sparks some competitive nature in me to buy things before they sell out. If I haven’t grabbed your attention yet and you can’t identify with me at all, well, how about this: Aldi’s is releasing a 2020 Wine and Beer Advent Calendar on Nov. 4, 2020, and they flew off the shelves last year.

Happy hunting and you’re welcome!
