It’s not happened for 400 years, but it will on Dec. 21, 2020, and you don’t want to miss it. If you blink too quickly, you just may miss this so be sure to be on alert. Fix a hot chocolate or a warm cup of tea; find a serene spot and gather your family. In the quiet night, take in this awesome sight.
What is this great event? I understand Jupiter and Saturn are scheduled to be nearest to each other almost in a direct alignment, which occurs about every 20 years -- but this time, as it just so happens, it will be on the evening of our Winter Solstice.
Just what does this mean? It’s supposed to be a breathtaking sight. Being this close to Christmas in such a year where so many have been negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, it must be a sign to restore faith. Why do I look at it this way? For many reasons, and what better time in our lives to expect to see this alignment and have it appear as if it is a Christmas Star?
My hope is I capture a peek and that it’s a great reminder to us all of the true meaning of Christmas and the Star of Bethlehem when baby Jesus was born.
I believe this phenomenon couldn’t come at a better time, in a better year, when we need it the most. So, if you need a little inspiration and restoration of your Christmas Spirit, be sure to take the time to admire this spectacle on Monday night.
