Supreme Court Posts

The Week Of April 6, 2020

The Supreme Court has extended the judicial emergency that was declared for all 55 of West Virginia's counties.  Under the new order, all deadlines (including statutes of limitation) through and including May 1, 2020 are stayed.  Courts will continue to hear emergency matters.  Otherwise, however, our state courts are closed to the public.  The Supreme Court will continue to consider and to issue opinions in cases that have been fully briefed, argued, and submitted.
